農業試驗所創立於1895年，以試種日本稻開啟臺灣農業科研體系，並落腳於臺北市的蟾蜍山下。臺灣光復後，經數次改組異動後，轄2分所，復因都市發展需求及城市化產生的影響，在行政院的支持下於1977年搬遷至現址，接續農業科學研究，提供政府推動政策之重要科學依據與支持。2023年8月1日農業部成立，本所同步改組，亦新成立花卉試驗分所。將透過創新及加值、加強與產學研界的跨域合作，持續以農業科技支持臺灣農業。

英文內容大要：
Established in 1895, the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute was situated at the base of Toad Mountain in Taipei City, with the goal of initiating Taiwan's agricultural scientific research system by the experimental planting of Japanese rice. Following numerous restructures and modifications following Taiwan's independence, it was divided into two branches. Due to the needs of urban development and the impact of urbanization, it was moved to its current location in 1977 with the support of the Executive Yuan to continue agricultural scientific research and provide important scientific basis and support for the government to promote policies. On August 1, 2023, the institute underwent a reorganization and a new flower experiment branch was founded in tandem with the founding of the Ministry of Agriculture. We will continue to support Taiwan's agriculture with agricultural science and technology through innovation and value-added, and strengthen cross-domain cooperation with industry, academia and research circles.
